Question: A homeowner has the right to challenge or appeal a home appraisal.
Top Answer (88% of 35 votes): Yes.

Answer: Yes
Explanation: A homeowner does have the right to challenge or appeal a home appraisal, known as a rebuttal. If the appraiser did a god job and all of the information in the appraisal appears to be accurate it will be difficult to get it changed. There is a slight change that you may be granted a re-appraisal if in fact you can prove that there are errors within the appraisal. I personally have had two rebuttals and was not granted a re-appraisal on either. One buyer went with another lender (which came in at value) and the other we were able to negotiate the appraisal shortage amount between the buyer and seller.
